Yesterday I received an email, seemingly from Paypal, that I have received funds. The email was sent from mark.delv.14@yahoo.com.tw. The email showed I received $245 from "Maxwell House". I was really shocked at how real the email looked. It probably is a way to gain access to one's Paypal password.
How you identify if the email is from Paypal?
1. Paypal always sends email addressed to the user by the name registered on the account. They never send a generic email starting with "Dear User" or "Dear Member".
2. Paypal will never ask you to click on any link to verify your password, enter your bank information or SSN.
If you receive an email like this do the following
Do NOT click on any links in the email.
Forward it to spoof@paypal.com
Delete it from you mailbox.
